These terms cover use of this website. Membership of the association is governed by the constitution. If these terms and the constitution deal with the same membership question, the constitution prevails.
Your account
Register with your own name and an email address you can access. You need to confirm that email before you continue. Keep your password to yourself, and tell us at admin@wemawelfare.org.au if you think someone else is using your account.
The website is for adult members. A member may record a child as a nominee. We do not offer accounts to children.
Joining
After you accept the constitution, the website asks for the one-time membership fee shown at checkout, currently 100 AUD. When that payment is received we issue your membership ID and set your membership and welfare status under the association’s rules. There is no second membership tier.
Card payments are taken by Stripe. An official may also record a payment made offline. What happens if you want the fee reviewed is set out in Refunds.
Using the website
You agree to:
- give information that is true, and update it when it changes;
- use the website only for your own membership and, if you are an official, for association work you are permitted to do;
- leave other members’ records, payments, and documents alone;
- not interfere with the website, attempt to break access controls, or upload anything unlawful.
We may suspend a sign-in that is being misused, or that has not completed the steps the association requires.
Welfare, nominees, and reimbursements
Nominees, the waiting period, bereavement payouts, levies, and the member wallet follow the constitution and the association’s reimbursement rules. Submitting a nominee or a payout request does not by itself approve it. Officials review those requests.
The association’s material
The constitution, the logo, and the text of this website belong to the association or its licensors. You may download the constitution for your membership. You may not copy the website or its branding for another service.
Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or changes a guarantee, right, or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law, or any other right that cannot legally be excluded. Where the Australian Consumer Law applies to a service we supply, that service comes with guarantees that cannot be excluded.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, and without limiting the Australian Consumer Law, the association is not liable for loss that is caused by a member giving incorrect information, by a failure of a third-party payment or email service, or by a member sharing their password. This limit does not apply to loss caused by our fraud or by conduct the Australian Consumer Law does not let us limit.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland and the Commonwealth of Australia. The courts of Queensland can hear a dispute about them.
